Why 20 minutes?
Twenty minutes is the most common AMRAP length: long enough that pacing matters more than raw speed, short enough to stay hard all the way through. Many of the best-known benchmark workouts use it, which makes it easy to compare your score with past efforts.
Plan for about a 7 out of 10 effort for the first 5 minutes. If your rounds are still the same speed at minute 15, you paced it well; if they are slowing, start the next one a little easier.
Scoring
Write down rounds plus extra reps, such as 14 + 8. If you scale a movement, note it next to the score so you can compare like with like next time.
