Pacing a 12 minute AMRAP
Twelve minutes sits between a sprint and a grind. You can work at a higher intensity than in a 20 minute piece, but not flat out: plan to go steady for the first 4 minutes, hold on through the middle 4, and empty the tank in the last 4.
Keep the round short, three movements of 30 to 60 seconds in total, so you finish several rounds and have a clear score.
Three 12 minute AMRAPs to try
- Engine: 10 calorie row, 10 wall-ball shots, 10 box jumps.
- Bodyweight: 5 burpees, 10 sit-ups, 15 air squats, 20 alternating lunges.
- Barbell: 6 deadlifts, 6 hang power cleans, 6 front squats with a light to moderate bar.
