DT workout
5 Rounds: Deadlifts, Hang Power Cleans, Push Jerks
A Hero workout honouring a fallen service member.
DT is a barbell complex done for time: five rounds of 12 deadlifts, 9 hang power cleans and 6 push jerks, all with the same bar. The weight feels manageable on the first round and very heavy by the fourth, mostly because your grip is giving out. It is a Hero workout honouring a fallen service member.

Time cap
Most gyms cap DT at about 15 minutes. If the clock runs out, note how many reps you completed. Change the cap in the app before you start if your gym uses a different one.
Scaling options
- Lighter bar: choose a load you could do the first round unbroken.
- Reduce to 3 rounds.
- Push presses instead of push jerks if the jerk is not yet solid.
Strategy tips
- Try to hold the deadlifts unbroken and break the cleans before your grip fails.
- Put the bar down on purpose for short breaks rather than dropping it from failure.
- Use a hook grip or short rests to protect your grip for the later rounds.
